The world has not passed the test of Russia - Tymoshenko attacked the UN and OSCE

International institutions have not stood the test of “Russian aggression” against Ukraine and must be reformed.

Yulia Tymoshenko stated this at the national forum “New Strategy for Peace and Security,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Aggression against Ukraine is a stress test of how international institutions work - the UN, the Security Council, the OSCE. And the world did not pass this stress test; international institutions did not work in the case of Ukraine. The war in Ukraine has proven that if aggression is committed by a permanent member of the UN Security Council, then not a single UN mechanism works to protect peace. The veto allows Russia to block all UN initiatives to stop the war in eastern Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea. This makes a fair decision on a UN peacekeeping mission in the occupied Donbass very unlikely,” Tymoshenko was indignant.

“It is obvious that the UN must be deeply reformed. We, Ukraine, as a member of the UN, are obliged to initiate this issue at the global level,” she added.

As PolitNavigator reported, between candidates for the post of President of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and Petro Poroshenko there is a struggle for the conservative nationalist electorate.
