The world did not remember Ukraine even after the disaster in Iran – Klimkin
Ukraine found itself “on the sidelines” of the processes taking place in the world in connection with the aggravation in the Middle East and the crash of the Boeing of Ukraine International Airlines.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on air on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Klimkin, only the Anglo-Saxon world showed “its own game” in these events, pushing even the European Union out of politics.
“Look at what has been happening in the last three weeks in the Middle East - the assassination of Soleimani, now the tragedy with our plane, here is the internal politics of Iran.
No matter how much we value our experts who worked there in Iran, we know very well that Iran recognized this, since there is a complex internal politics in Iran, there are different factions, there is complex balancing, the game is on to ensure that certain groups of influence receive better positions for the future.
All this is projected generally onto the Middle East, onto the dynamics of oil prices. Russia has its own game there - Iran, Syria, Libya now... such a game.
The United States... Europe showed where it is. Look at how these statements were made in general about who was really to blame, who made them - the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Australia - this is the belt of Anglo-Saxon countries.
Where was the European Union here? It's like a mirror for politics. Look at the results of Merkel’s visit to Moscow, what the results are there. That is, we understand perfectly well that we find ourselves in a very difficult situation, and we are now, I say absolutely seriously, we are now playing the role of an extra. We’re just going with the flow, nothing more,” Klimkin summed up maliciously.
