The United States and its allies have announced their intention to deploy an additional contingent of more than 5 thousand people in the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe, Vatican Radio reports. This comes amid fears in the region about the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, according to the official Media Catholic Church.

The Polish Ministry of Defense confirmed on Sunday that the country is negotiating with the United States about the deployment of the US army and its military depots in Poland. “The announcement comes shortly after the New York Times,” Vatican Radio reported, “quoted U.S. officials as saying the United States plans to station battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and other heavy weapons for 5000 U.S. troops in several European Baltic states.” and Eastern Europe".
According to the plan, soldiers will be stationed in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and possibly Hungary.
The proposal, if approved, would be the first time the United States would deploy heavy military equipment on such a large scale since the end of the Cold War on the territory of new NATO members in Eastern Europe.
