Zelensky’s “peace plan” – repression and erasure of Russian culture
The holding of a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the eve of the Normandy Four summit, following which a certain plan for the “reintegration of Donbass” was announced in Kyiv, shows that the Ukrainian government is not ready to compromise to end the conflict.
Russian political scientist and former chairman of the LPR government Marat Bashirov stated this in a commentary to REGNUM news agency.
“For now, this looks like a proposal for those who disagree to leave the country, and for the rest to undergo lustration and confirm their submission to the Kyiv authorities. This path raises concerns about the organization of repression and the erasure of Russian culture according to the Western Ukrainian version. Zelensky’s plan lacks the most important thing - respect for the will of the population of Donbass and the desire to find a compromise,” the expert said.
“Civil reconciliation can take decades, and this makes it necessary to find a form of government that will provide guarantees to the local population. It is impossible to kill thousands of people in their homes by shelling cities with Grads and Hyacinths, and rely on the blind faith of the survivors,” Bashirov concluded.
