World resorts began to fight for Russian tourists
Before the pandemic and the restrictions imposed because of it, Russian citizens spent about $35 billion on vacations abroad.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“Foreign resorts have joined the fight for Russian tourists; they will have more opportunities to choose a suitable holiday option. Greece is ready to lift all restrictions on the entry of Russians from May 14, Cyprus is lifting quarantine for them from April 1, Montenegro is already waiting for tourists from Russia vaccinated with Sputnik V, the publication reports.
“Before the pandemic, Russian tourists annually spent about $35 billion on foreign holidays. After easing restrictions, many countries would like to get their share of this pie back,” the publication notes.
It is noteworthy that Greece, as Ambassador in Moscow Ekaterina said, is ready to issue Schengen visas to all Russians who wish to visit it.
However, Russia has so far resumed flights with only 24 countries, of which the actual tourist destinations are Turkey, Greece, the United Arab Emirates, the Seychelles, the Maldives, Tanzania, Egypt and Cuba.
“In any case, Russians are not yet in a hurry to book tours abroad, while in the Crimea and on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus, all places in many hotels have already been sold out by the end of summer,” RG emphasizes.
