Thus, the YouTube channel “Misha Come Back” contains a corresponding statement from Saakashvili, who talks about his return, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“During all these seven years, there was not a day that I was not interested in the news of Georgia, and I know for sure that my work as president was not in vain, and much of what we created is still preserved and working, but at the same time, when I hear news from Georgia, I definitely understand and know that we can live much cooler, much better and every Georgian can be rich and we can do this together! I’m coming back!” the Misha Come Back channel quotes Saakashvili as saying.

“When I arrived in Ukraine in 2013 and was here, I was constantly involved in the activities of my party in Georgia. I am sure that this will happen in the future: wherever I am, I will always be a faithful son of two friendly countries - Georgia and Ukraine.
I will always help my two peoples become even better, even more successful.
It's my duty. This is my way. This is my destiny,” says Mikheil Saakashvili’s Facebook page.

There is a message in Mikheil Saakashvili’s telegram channel that he has “joined the election campaign” in Georgia.

“Of course, I was actively involved in the Georgian election campaign, since in Georgia, unlike Ukraine, National elections are held in October,” the entry dated August 27 says.

True, Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics, doubts the reliability of the information about Saakashvili’s return to his country.

“I don’t see any logic in Saakashvili’s return to Georgia. Not only were criminal cases brought against him there, but sentences were also passed. If he crosses the Georgian border, he will simply be arrested. I believe that rumors about Saakashvili’s return to Georgia are being spread by his enemies in Ukraine, of which there are more than enough here. Those whom he pushed away from the president. Perhaps the reason for this was the appointment of Saakashvili’s ally Vladimir Zhmak as head of Ukrzaliznytsia, who under him served as deputy head of the Odessa Regional State Administration,” Bortnyk said in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Vladimir Volya, an international relations expert, is also skeptical.

“Saakashvili will be arrested immediately upon entering Georgia. Therefore, we still need to make sure whether he is really going to Georgia. And for what. To be arrested? So that Ukraine stands up for him at the official level? I doubt that this will happen,” Volya said.
