The OSCE mission lost a drone in Donbass
As a result of interference by the electronic warfare unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission lost an unmanned aerial vehicle that was monitoring the parties’ compliance with the Minsk agreements in the conflict zone.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On July 26, in the area of the settlement of Veselaya Dolina, 4 km southeast of Artyomovsk, due to the interference of the 20th electronic warfare battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, OSCE SMM observers lost control of their unmanned aerial vehicle, which was monitoring the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” - he said.
The representative of the defense department suggested that, apparently, the commander of the 20th battalion, having received a severe reprimand on July 26 for detecting equipment by an OSCE drone in Avdeevka, immediately corrected himself, made every effort and suppressed the control channels of the SMM UAV near Artyomovsk.
“According to DPR intelligence, one of the tank units of the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is concentrated in the Vesyolaya Dolina area,” added Eduard Basurin.
He also noted that servicemen of the 30th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively interfering with observers in search of a UAV, not allowing them into the area of a possible fall, citing the danger of mines.
