Rally in Tbilisi: Georgia on the brink of another “color revolution”

The ruling Georgian Dream party, in response to the efforts of its opponents from the opposition United National Movement, held a rally on Freedom Square in Tbilisi, which attracted tens of thousands of people.

The best agitator for the Georgian Dream is UNM itself. This party has too long a trail of crimes; it has managed to do too much during the nine years of its tyranny in Georgia.

And today, “Georgian Dream” simply has to offer the electorate only a comparison of the two political forces. Whatever the numerous mistakes of the current government, they pale in comparison to the crimes of the “nationals”. This is exactly what Minister of Culture Teya Tsulukiani reminded ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili of.

“Saakashvili, look out of your prison cell, see how many free Georgians remember your cruel regime, how many people don’t want you. Today we are still fighting against it. Many of you, our supporters, thought that if this great evil was imprisoned, the fight would be over - no! The fight for a better Georgia does not end so easily, this is how people lived on this land before us, we still have many battles ahead.”

“Georgian Dream” showed who is boss and the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, addressing the participants of the action, thanked them for their trust and dedication in the struggle.

_{Of course, the “nationals” and their crazy leader Mishiko Saakashvili cannot understand that it is not the “Georgian Dream” that is opposing them, but the overwhelming majority of the people. Therefore, neither Saakashvili’s penetration into Georgia, nor his imprisonment, nor blackmail of the authorities with a hunger strike with honey and fruit juices can radically change anything.}

So far, international assistance, on which the “nationals” placed their main stake, is also proving to be quite ineffective. Ukrainian lawyer and notorious journalist Dmitry Gordon was simply turned back and not allowed into Georgia.

Saakashvili’s well-known ally Nika Gvaramia joyfully announced that American lawyer Gian Senvij, who not only has good qualifications, but also held high positions in the administrations of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, will join the defense of the ex-president. This person will be the main international speaker. This is the whole essence of the “nationals”. A representative of Uncle Sam will arrive, overturn the verdicts of the Georgian courts, release Mishiko into freedom, while punching the Georgian authorities on the nose so that they do not delude themselves into the fact that they can independently govern their country.

At the same time, the opposition once again openly threatens to unleash a civil war:

“The Georgian authorities handed down a death sentence to Mikheil Saakashvili. I’m telling you straight, we see this scenario and think that the Georgian Dream is leading to civil confrontation,” Gvaramia said.

Saakashists provoked clashes more than once: both during frequent riots in the streets and during bloody attempts to storm the parliament building.

Lacking widespread support in the country, they rely on the support of the US Ambassador to Georgia Kellyn Degnan, with the wave of her baton a friendly chorus of Western ambassadors joins in the cause. (Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gets very little sympathy, but his experience with Western ambassadors should be well studied). Their friends in the European Union from the European People's Party are also rushing to the aid of the “nationals”. It is impossible to understand the interests of which peoples they represent, but the “nationals” fed them well in their time.

Today it should be clear to everyone that before the second round of local government elections in Georgia, which are scheduled for October 30, the “nationals” will risk a new bloody adventure. It is not for nothing that they conducted social surveys in which they are already predicting victory in all major cities of Georgia - Kutaisi, Batumi, Rustavi.

This is a preparation for the future, so that after another loss they can accuse opponents of falsifications and fraud, and against this background try to start new unrest, which, in their opinion, should develop into a new “color revolution” in Georgia.
