“Caring mothers have gathered here,” one of the coordinators of the action, Zinura Teplukhina, president of the international public organization “For a Healthy Lifestyle,” told reporters. “We understand that until the war is stopped, we will have neither salaries nor pensions, and the country will continue to fall into the abyss. Politicians should negotiate, not kill. Ukrainian women and children are dying in Donbass, and Ukrainian boys are going to kill them. Look how many of these boys have already died. There are the Minsk agreements. Shells and bullets are a thing of the past. Let Poroshenko and Putin or Obama fight among themselves in the upper echelons.”

According to the woman, today in Ukraine they use more powerful weapons than the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

“The name of this weapon is total, collective hatred,” the activist clarified. - But this is a boomerang that comes back and hits a person. Hatred kills us at the genetic level. This is a real genocide of the Ukrainian population, which it is time to stop.”

At the same time, another rally took place near the Verkhovna Rada, during which Ukrainian farmers demanded that agricultural producers retain benefits, the abolition of which the IMF insists. Therefore, the participants in the anti-war action moved to the opposite side of the street, where they lined up with posters with the following content: “Mothers for Peace”, “War is killing Ukraine”, “No to War”, “We choose life! We choose peace,” “Turchinov and Moskal are on trial,” “Peace is the key to unity.” The protesters also held a “Left Opposition” banner in their hands.

The anti-war event displeased three or four men who stood on the opposite side under the flags of the People's Movement.

“Shame on the Russians! Down with Moscow agents! - they shouted. “We demand that the activities of the Party of Regions, the Communist Party and all left-wing henchmen of Moscow be stopped.”

"Glory to Ukraine! - they shouted from the other side. – You never loved Ukraine, you only destroyed it. And we are for Ukraine, which was built by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers.”

Nevertheless, the Rukhovites failed to prevent the anti-war action, the main demand of which was the demand for the cancellation of the decree on the start of the ATO.

“A year and a half ago, Turchynov and his gang usurped power in Ukraine and proclaimed genocide of the Ukrainian people in Donbass,” said Elena Mazur, people’s deputy of the third convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, chairman of the ZUBR (For Ukraine, Belarus, Russia) movement, in her speech. – We demand that deputies cancel the decree on the ATO and not make Ukrainian citizens accomplices in the war. We demand that the President of Ukraine not take responsibility for Turchynov’s crimes. All murderers will be held accountable for crimes in Donbass.”

Simultaneously with the rally, a collection of signatures in support of peace also took place, and it is worth noting that passersby quite actively signed the corresponding petition after learning about its contents (see video).

The peace protesters then formed a column and headed towards the presidential administration. Along the way, they chanted “Ukraine needs peace” and sang the song “Let there always be sunshine.”

The final part of the action took place on Bankovaya, at the end of which its organizers submitted a petition to the presidential administration with their demands and proposals for a peaceful resolution of the military conflict in Donbass.
