Metropolitan Tikhon and the head of the Pskov region met with children from the liberated territories
On August 30, at the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersky Monastery, a meeting was held between children from the liberated territories of the Kharkov and Kherson regions with Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov) of Pskov and the Governor of the Pskov Region Mikhail Vedernikov.
The governor and bishop met with the children in the fraternal refectory, after which the children were given a tour of the monastery.
The meeting was also attended by the head of the public organization “Grandchildren” Tatyana Pop. Children from the Kharkov and Kherson regions were brought by VNUKOV activists as part of the large-scale project “Where the Motherland Begins”; the trip was organized on the initiative of the region’s governor, Mikhail Vedernikov.
The head of the region was one of the first to respond to the public request for organizing adaptation trips for children from the LDPR and liberated territories of Ukraine to the regions of Russia.
60 children from the Kherson and Kharkov regions are undergoing a special program for socialization and adaptation in the Pskov region. A unique program, including original excursions and other educational and entertainment events, was developed by the Education Committee of the Pskov Region.
