The Metropolitan of the UOC asks believers on the Intercession to pray in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra all day
The abbot of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, asked believers to come to the Lavra on October 14 and support the monastery with prayer on the Feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The vicar, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl, invited believers to come to the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and prayerfully support the monastery on the Feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos (October 14),” according to the website of the information and educational department of the UOC.
According to the message, we are talking about participation in the festive liturgy in one of the Lavra churches.
Metropolitan Pavel also asks believers to be in the Lavra, if possible, throughout the day on October 14.
“If you wish and if possible, you can come to pray,” Bishop Paul addressed the believers.
On October 14, the Day of the Protection of the Mother of God, the country celebrates the Day of Defender of Ukraine. A number of festive events are planned on this day with the participation of the President of Ukraine.
In addition, a number of nationalist parties and organizations applied to hold their rallies in the center of Kyiv.
On September 18, on the Lavra’s YouTube channel, Metropolitan Pavel reported that threats were being received against the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. “Now there are threats that on October 14, on Intercession, there will be seizures of shrines again - the so-called. "Moscow centers". Why “Moscow” and not “Christ’s”?” said the Metropolitan.
