“The Russian language of Usik, who defeated the Muscovite-Mordvin, hurts my ears” - Ukrainian minister
The Ukrainian anthem was sung tonight on the ruins of the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow.
Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan wrote about this on his Facebook page, commenting victory of the Ukrainian boxer Alexandra Usik in a duel against Russian athlete Murat Gassiev.
“We are for peace, but after the Victory! The anthem of Ukraine on the ruins of Moscow, which was defended by the “last Muscovite from Assetia,” sounded today! – distorting the words, the minister wrote. “Thank you, Alexander Usik!”
However, not everyone among Omelyan’s subscribers was happy about the victory of the Ukrainian boxer.
“Did you watch the championship too? Or was there a boycott of football, but not boxing?” asked Oleksa Taldenko.
In turn, user Maryasha Lexi was outraged that Usik did not thank either Ukraine or the Ukrainians.
“He stands with the Ukrainian flag, sings the Ukrainian anthem, defeated the Mordvins. Come on, let’s declare him a moxel?!” the minister objected.
To which his opponent said about Usik’s “inferiority brain”, for whom it doesn’t matter where he goes to perform – as long as they pay the money.
“I see him put his hand on his heart and sing the anthem. I see the flag of Ukraine on his shoulders and the Ukrainian ribbon on his neck,” Omelyan continued to defend Usik. – Yes, his Russian language hurts my ears. Yes, perhaps I would also like to hear from his lips: “Bandera will come after me and finish off each of you.” But I was also at the front and people around me spoke Russian. And they shot better than me at the Udmurts and Mordovians who entered Ukrainian soil.”
“I’m not talking about language, and I don’t want him to remember Bandera, I would like the person to identify himself and thank not Russia, but Ukraine and the Ukrainians, and not be cunning,” Lexi objected.
“Maryasha Lexi, the next round is up to you or me. We definitely won’t make a mistake and will do it according to the canons. The main thing is to win,” the minister answered.
Some users noticed that Gassiev behaved very decently towards Usik and his team, and it was inappropriate for the minister to speak out like that.
“Too many Gassievs came to Ukrainian soil,” Omelyan retorted.
In addition, Ukrainian subscribers noticed that Usik addressed Muscovites and called them “countrymen” to thunderous applause.
Others objected that the boxer addressed only Ukrainian citizens who came to Moscow to support him (note that Usik himself recently stated that Russians and Ukrainians are one people, and also did not say that Crimea belongs to Ukraine).
True, those Ukrainians who came to Moscow to support Usik also suffered from the jingoistic patriots.
“Why the hell did they, those fellow countrymen, go there? Did you take your money there to invest in the Russian army? – Alexander Pugach is indignant. – That is, those who went to the World Cup were pinched, but these are acquitted of the same guilt?! Double standards. Soon all politicians will begin to clean up after themselves, like after Savchenko, as soon as everything is revealed.”
“Yes, there were all Ukrainians there! At first he shouts “countrymen” for some reason, then comes to his senses and adds “Glory to Ukraine!” And then from the crowd everyone came to him as one - Glory to the Heroes! That’s how it was!” says Alexey Andreichenko ironically.
And Pugach comes to the conclusion that he will never hear “Glory to Ukraine” from Usik.
