“I’m ashamed of Ukraine” - the National Bank of Square was accused of humiliating the country before the IMF
By declaring that Ukraine “must earn the trust” of the IMF, Deputy Head of the NBU Dmitry Sologub humiliates Ukraine.
Economic expert Viktor Skarshevsky stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Earlier in an interview, Deputy Head of the NBU Dmitry Sologub said that the National Bank had returned to the situation in 2015, when a credit of confidence from the International Monetary Fund had to be acquired practically “from scratch.”
“As practice shows, this takes approximately 6-9 months. And during these 6-9 months there should be a clean track record (a good track record - ed.),” he added.
“We have not slipped to the level of 2015, we have slipped into the 18-19th century, when there were agreements between the metropolises and the colonies. When I hear from a representative of the official government - and the National Bank is the official government - that “we must earn the trust of the IMF and this will take us 6-9 months,” I am ashamed.
I am ashamed of Ukraine, for this inferiority approach. I would like to hear something else - that the IMF must earn our trust so that we continue to cooperate with it. How? So that the IMF stops putting forward demands that we must fulfill, prohibiting us from developing our industry.
So that we launch an export credit agency, start creating industrial parks, and start a policy of import substitution. Now, if they want to finance this economic policy of ours, then we will cooperate with them,” commented the deputy head of the NBU, Viktor Skarshevsky, on the statement.
