Donbass opinion is dangerous for Ukraine – NSDC
By using the toponym Donbass, Ukraine risks instantly finding itself in the narratives of the Russian Federation.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this in an interview with the BBC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When we start using the phrase “Donbass,” we immediately find ourselves in the narratives of the Russian Federation. According to our documents that are valid in our country, we do not have such a geographical phrase as “Donbass”. We have the Donetsk, Lugansk region and other regions, there is the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and the city of Kyiv - this is the administrative structure in our country,” said the Secretary of the Security Council.
“We start using the phrase “Donbass”, and then Russian propaganda says “the people of Donbass”, “the opinion of Donbass”, “and you are talking to Donbass”, do you understand? This is a very dangerous thing,” Danilov warned.
