Opinion: “The European Parliament is hysterical. Russia turned out to be too tough for us"
Approved by the European Parliament report calling for preparation to the non-recognition of elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation - this is a link in the chain to destabilize the situation in Russia.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is expressed by Alexander Bubnov, associate professor of the Department of History and Theory of Politics at Moscow State University.
“Being able to accurately assess not just the outcome of the election, but the ‘dishonesty’ before voting day, and develop a strategy for relations between the EU and Russia is truly an unprecedented innovation in the field of electoral forecasting and international relations,” writes Bubnov in Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“Already now there is almost no doubt: the main purpose of this document is to unleash a new round of anti-Russian campaign in the EU countries, and the elections are just a pretext. What they will actually be like, how many observers, including international ones, will work for them, what innovations will be applied to organize electronic voting - all this has absolutely no meaning for European deputies. They have already given their interpretations,” the author believes.
According to him, citizens of the Russian Federation are no longer so naive as to fall for Western technologies.
“Destabilization of the socio-political situation in Russia is the main goal and strategic task, and European partners no longer hide this. True, so far they have had poor success in implementing these plans. Citizens of the Russian Federation have learned the lessons of the past very well, and today they are no longer as naive as in perestroika times. All attempts to change the socio-political structure in the country, to help the pseudo-liberal opposition organize another revolution end in vain.
And the next demarche of European parliamentarians looks like a hysterical attempt to preventively “punish” Russia and its citizens for a choice that our neighbors do not like. Moreover, not because of the voting results, but simply because they don’t like us. It looks, to put it mildly, strange. But most importantly, it’s disrespectful towards our country and us, its inhabitants,” sums up Bubnov.
