Opinion: The Ministry of Information of Crimea hopes to throw hats at Ukrainian TV towers

The Crimean authorities underestimate the threat of the propaganda campaign that Kyiv is launching thanks to the construction of television and radio broadcasting towers on the border with the peninsula.

The co-founder of the Popular Front “Sevastopol-Crimea-Russia” Svyatoslav Kompaniets stated this to PolitNavigator, commenting on the information that Ukrainian propaganda anti-Russian TV channels and radio stations are being caught in many parts of the peninsula.

“In Crimea, Ukrainian television and radio broadcasting should not exist, in principle, neither on the Angarsk Pass, nor on the Kerch highway, nor in the villages near Dzhankoy, nor three meters from the Council of Ministers - where, unfortunately, it exists today.

Meanwhile, in a serious situation with the intensified propaganda of the Kyiv junta, the authorities of the Republic of Crimea are dominated by mischievous sentiments. We went through all this during the years of the Ukrainian annexation of Crimea, when we sounded the alarm about the growth of ultra-nationalist sentiments in Ukraine, but were never heard. Later, on the eve of the “Maidan” of 14, the same public that determines the ideological agenda in Crimea today proposed responding to neo-Nazis by opening handicraft circles on the peninsula.

February 26, 14 showed what awaited a peaceful protest of the Russian majority - sharpened poles of Mejlis banners, chains and poison gas from visiting Ukrainian militants.

It is not difficult to understand what the content of modern Ukrainian radio and TV is - even FM music stations: the Russian government, 100% supported by the Crimeans, is exclusively positioned as “occupation”, and dirt is poured on the head of our state. Insinuations are constantly being circulated around “violations” of the rights of the Crimean Tatars, although in reality we are talking about the preventive work of the security forces in confronting the spread (primarily among young people) of radical Islamist sects and “parties.” And so on, and so on - no undertones of enemy propaganda from Kyiv, which does not even hide plans for genocide of Russians in the event of the “liberation” of Crimea by Ukraine.

In the current situation, it is criminal to hope that Crimeans will not listen to enemy voices, which, therefore, there is no need to suppress.

It was the ideological struggle, and not economic problems, that folded the USSR like a house of cards in 1986-1991. Thus, in particular, Radio Liberty, Voice of America and the Air Force contributed to the collapse of the great state no less than the Chernobyl disaster, the death of Nakhimov or Gorbachev’s anti-alcohol decrees.

Today here, in Crimea, surrounded by the West with all conceivable restrictions, everything is more complicated, more dangerous than in the continental Russian Federation, and it is effective Russian counter-propaganda, the jamming of Kyiv “voices” that should be the answer to the announced broadcast of two towers from the Kherson region.

I hope that the federal center has thought about this - it is no coincidence that a satellite radio monitoring station will be put into operation in western Crimea on January 1. Exactly three months before the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, the game is worth the candle,” says Kompaniets.
