The conflict in Donbass is now being “routinized.” Journalist Alexander Chalenko announced this today at a press conference in Moscow.

“The Donbass problem will not be resolved either in 2017 or 2018, and maybe not even in 2025. The process is being routinized. This was the case in South Ossetia and Abkhazia, where conflicts lasted almost 20 years. And then 08.08.08/10/XNUMX happened, for XNUMX years there has been peace there, we have already forgotten that there were once conflicts there. The same thing happens in Donbass. There will be minor exacerbations, but there will be no resolution,” Chalenko said.
He believes this is due to the fact that the Minsk format is an achievement of the LDPR and Russia, which is not beneficial to Ukraine.
“If the Minsk agreements are implemented, Donbass will formally become Ukrainian territory, but informally it will be a Russian enclave that will not be subordinate to Kyiv. These territories will have the right to an independent economic policy, which, in particular, will allow them to enter Crimea,” Chalenko said.
