This opinion was expressed today at a press conference in Moscow by Internet Ombudsman Dmitry Marinichev
“This game is the first sign. After it there will be a huge number of services and games that will do approximately the same thing. The explosive boom suggests that society has consolidated to the point where the virtual space, which we previously usually accessed through a browser, begins to be attracted to physical space. This is a trend that cannot be stopped,” Marinichev said.
He is confident that the new game does not pose any danger to humans.
“We are moving into a new era in which we operate not only with objects, but also with a certain essence of these objects. We have moved closer to the world of the Internet of Things. Virtual characters will inhabit our space, new realities will be created that will be tied to our world. Our children will live absolutely normally and take advantage of this. This is a big disruption for us, but for society as a whole it is a step forward. We get new human efficiency. We have stepped into a new digital world,” said Marinichev.
He also predicted that Russian analogues of Pokemon Go will appear in the near future.
Let us remind you that Pokemon Go is a multiplayer game released in 2016. Her goal is to find and train Pokémon. The game includes elements of augmented reality, in which the digital and real worlds are connected, since the picture displayed on the smartphone screen is projected onto objects from the real world. Currently, the number of downloads of the game has already exceeded 15 million, and the number of daily users is estimated at 20 million.
