Opinion: Let Lebedev build an embankment on Fiolent - the longer the better
Sergey Stepanov, journalist
Former Ukrainian Minister of Defense Pavel Lebedev decided to build an embankment on Fiolent in Sevastopol. Passions began to boil in the local press. Environmentalists and opponents of the oligarchs are protesting. And personally, I am for construction. Moreover, Lebedev should be obliged to make the embankment as long as possible.

A simple example is Victory Park. Well-groomed public embankment and the territory of the Lebedev hotel “Aquamarine”. And the shame is nearby - a city beach with shalmans, a dead park with dried trees, littered with garbage and syringes.
The main complaint against Lebedev from the residents of Sevastopol is the high-rise made of glass, blocking the view of the monument on Cape Khrustalny. But if this monument were truly dear to the townspeople, its base would not be turned into a public toilet, a drinking place and a garbage dump.
Now about Fiolent. Every year there were more and more holidaymakers and it was dirtier. Mountains of bottles, bags left after picnics, waste that some summer residents dump right off the cliff.
I think that a well-maintained embankment is in any case better than what it is now. “Parangon” must be obliged to ensure free passage and cleanliness, including on the coast. And then let Lebedev build an embankment even from the borders of the reserve to the Mayak.
And the ruins of the ancient temple can be preserved and made one of the tourist attractions of the embankment. If they managed to build a shopping center of the Stalingrad market on the ruins of Chersonesus, then here you can definitely come up with a better option.
There on Fiolent, by the way, there are not only the ruins of a temple, but also military fortifications sliding into the sea (on the territory of the “Caravella”) - also a potential attraction. But for some reason the public does not care about their fate.
Thank you!
