Opinion: Referendum on language and federalization – Poroshenko’s anti-Russian plan
Kyiv, February 20 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – If a referendum on federalization and the status of the Russian language is held in Ukraine in the near future, the results of the plebiscite will be falsified. Deputy of the Odessa City Council Igor Dmitriev stated this on the air of the talk show “Evening”.

According to him, today there cannot be a fair referendum in Ukraine due to intimidation of those who disagree with Kyiv’s line and censorship in the media.
“Shortly before the Minsk agreements, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced that he would be ready to go to an all-Ukrainian referendum on key issues - federalization and the state language. I would like to warn everyone, especially those involved in the negotiation process, not to turn this topic into a farce. If we hold a referendum on these topics today, they will face a fiasco. Because, given the monopoly in the media and pressure on any opposition figure, it is impossible to hold this referendum. This will be a pure farce,” Dmitriev said.
