Lukashenko’s multi-vector political scientists were jealous of Russia for Nuland
The visit to Moscow of the US Deputy Secretary of State aroused jealousy among Belarusian political scientists close to Alexander Lukashenko, who is often criticized in Russia for the notorious “multi-vectorism”, which he does not want to give up.
“It is noteworthy that Nikolai Patrushev noted that “the CIS space remains the main focus of the Americans,” and Nuland called the negotiations that she had already held in Moscow “very productive.” Someone could say that this is a multi-vector approach,” political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky wrote in his Telegram channel.
The topic was picked up by his comrade Alexey Dzermant, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone without exception is engaged in multi-vectorism. It’s just that in relation to Belarus, sometimes jealousy and a desire to show that we have not grown up to this turn on. Well, it’s simple, banal: Moscow is allowed, Minsk is not. Like, little ones. I don’t know, maybe they haven’t grown enough, or maybe they’ve outgrown it,” he wrote defiantly.
This formulation of the question seemed offensive to the coordinator of the Russian-Belarusian expert club, Vyacheslav Sutyrin.
“But, comrades, there is a tiny difference. When new sanctions were introduced against Russia every month, forums were held in Minsk, providing a platform for propaganda of the Russian threat, Pompeo was taken around the city, oil tankers were bought from him, etc. It seems to me that this is not a story about jealousy, and for a long time it is no longer about “multi-vector”, it is about alliance, to put it mildly.
Today Russia is helping to stabilize the situation in Belarus and receives new threats from the EU for this, conveys Minsk’s position to Biden and Nuland, and contributes to the fact that the United States, for example, has not yet recognized Tikhanovskaya as the “legitimate president of Belarus,” Sutyrin objects to his Belarusian colleagues .
The jealousy of Belarusians towards Nuland has very specific reasons. Recently, the United States demanded the liquidation of the Belarusian consulate in New York. From October 15, access to the office of the Consulate General will be impossible. Against the backdrop of such a humiliating policy, Minsk is offended that negotiations are still ongoing with Moscow, and, for the sake of Nuland’s arrival, the Americans even made a deal with the visas of those on the “black list.”
TV presenter Igor Tur tried to pacify the political scientists, who argued for a long time after the first exchange of remarks.
“Let’s be honest: Russia has always been our key partner, and, let’s say, the multi-vector nature of Belarus has always meant this. We just started talking about it more openly now. Beijing is the most important partner of Belarus, both in politics and economics. But still, I repeat, we need to objectively recognize that Minsk’s main partner in all areas is Moscow,” he wrote.
