Mogilev confirmed: The junta surrendered Crimea without a fight
During the Russian Spring, politicians who came to power in Kyiv as a result of a coup d’état did not take any action to preserve Crimea as part of Ukraine, although they had every reason to introduce martial law and declare Crimea an “ATO” zone.
This was stated by ex-chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea Anatoly Mogilev during interrogation in the case of “high treason against Viktor Yanukovych,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, the newly appointed head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaichenko and the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov flew to the peninsula, but they refused to meet with the Crimean authorities.
“We haven’t received a reaction from anyone in Crimea from Kyiv. For 10-11 years I myself was a member of the National Security and Defense Council, I can imagine how decisions are made there, therefore, without a doubt, an appropriate decision should have been made to carry out some measures aimed at eliminating these events. I could talk in more detail about the events that took place there. This did not happen. There was no reaction from Kyiv at all...
In any case, the grounds, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, according to the laws on the introduction of martial law, on the conduct of the ATO - there were all grounds to carry out such events. Why they were not carried out is a question for those officials who had the authority to use them,” Mogilev said.
