Mogilev assures: In a week I will persuade Donbass to return to the trident
The last Ukrainian leader of Crimea, Anatoly Mogilev, assures that in just a week he could agree with the “pseudo-authorities” of Donbass on the conditions for ending the war and returning to Ukrainian control.
The police general stated this on air on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If the authorities want to restore order in the Donbass and establish peace there, they will need, I think, a week’s time if desired. Only if there is a desire for power. If there is no desire, then it is useless to talk about something...
Sit down at the negotiating table, find common ground, compromises that are spelled out. With all the participants in the process, without this, nothing will happen - sit down with the Russians, with representatives of these LPR/DPR. For the fifth year now they have had some pseudo-authorities there, and we also need to talk to them...
We need to resolve this conflict – sit down and resolve it. And we will think about how to solve it. So, sit down - they wrote down some conditions, other conditions, sat down and made a decision. This was done in the Minsk agreements. Did you do it? Done. So let's get them done in the end.
Let's do them and see what we get. Yes, this could then lead to a parade of sovereignties or autonomies throughout Ukraine - maybe, but the conflict needs to be resolved somehow!
Any conflict is military, there are three options for resolving it - victory, defeat or compromise, a peace treaty. Can we win? Well, for the sixth year we have been “winning” without success. It's just a shame to lose. There is only one thing left – negotiations and the peace process,” Mogilev said.
Thank you!
