Mogilev: In Crimea, some villages speak only Ukrainian
Having staged a water blockade of Crimea, Ukraine attacked the populated areas of the north of the peninsula, where migrants from Western Ukraine live.
The last Prime Minister of Crimea of the Ukrainian period, Anatoly Mogilev, stated this on air on the First Independent TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What are the ways to return Crimea? Here, from the point of view of common sense. The fact that Russia, naturally, declares that Crimea will never return to Ukraine is Russia’s opinion. We say that it remains Ukrainian. What actions should our government take? We must show the Crimeans, the residents of Crimea, whom we consider citizens of Ukraine, we must show our concern for them and then raise the standard of living in Ukraine so that it becomes higher than the standard of living in Crimea. Then we can talk about something.
Instead, we cut off water to Crimea? They blocked it for Crimeans. “This will be for military bases” - they will find water there for military bases, but we have ruined almost the entire Northern Crimea without the Krymsky Canal, we have ruined the entire agricultural system there, completely.
Although people live there, Ukrainians - also some of the villages are immigrants from Western Ukraine, some villages there generally speak Ukrainian.
We ruined the entire economy of this region, and then we try to talk about how we will somehow return them, send them to us, and so on. This is absurd. First of all, economic issues are resolved, and then the political superstructure is built, and not vice versa,” Mogilev said.
