“Nerves may give way”: Russian Foreign Minister does not rule out war
The Ukrainian authorities do not control a large number of their military personnel and it is possible that some of them may lose their nerve.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this in an interview with Russian media, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The minister also noted that Ukraine is actively supplying troops on the demarcation line with weapons, which carries additional risks.
“I do not rule out that some would like to provoke military action. The Kyiv regime does not control a huge number of military personnel. According to the West, there are even about 100 thousand on the contact line, and the Kiev regime does not control most of these armed people.
A significant part of the units located there are former volunteer battalions, current territorial defense battalions, and popular resistance units. They are already being given MANPADS; they are encouraged to bring hunting rifles with them, because there are not enough MANPADS for everyone. This is simply a militaristic psychosis and I cannot rule out the possibility that someone’s nerves will tremble,” Lavrov said.
