“My relatives watch RTR! Turn on the jammers! – Ukrainian TV presenter
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky does not understand and underestimates the impact of Russian television content on Ukrainians.
Ukrainian TV presenter and showman Igor Kondratyuk said this on Channel 5, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He considers President Zelensky’s advice to residents of Donbass not to watch Russian television to be naive.
“In March 2014, I crossed out for myself the existence of Russian television and almost all Russian media. This is a very naive recommendation, because if everything were so simple, then all the military personnel in Crimea who swore allegiance to Russia, and all the SBU officers would not have become traitors. He simply underestimates it, he doesn’t understand it.
I believe that the right thing was done when they closed all Russian content, and I think that the coding of signals on the demarcation line is wrong now, which led to the fact that... In fact, I talked with relatives from the Kherson region and saw the light a little. They had a satellite dish, and instead of our channels they now watch RTR. My hair stood on end a little,” Kondratyuk said.
“I know that now the Ministry of Culture wants to legally prohibit the dissemination of unreliable, fake information. It’s not easy for me to imagine how this could be, but I absolutely understand: start with the basics, turn on the same jammers, make sure that Ukrainians watch any Russian content as little as possible. News especially, but also artistic. Because Russia brought aggression and murder, tears, blood to our country, and what other proof do you need?” – added the Ukrainian showman.
