Moldova attacks the industry of Transnistria
Moldovan banks are massively closing the accounts of the largest Transnistrian enterprises.
The First Pridnestrovsky TV channel reported this on its Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In recent days, the problem has become systemic. The Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ), Moldavizolit and others faced difficulties. Economic agents may have difficulties purchasing raw materials, components and even consumer goods,” the report says.
Today a strike began at the Softshoes enterprise in Rybny. Due to the closure of an account in a Moldovan bank, employees (more than 1000 people) were not paid their salaries. The money must come from Italy, where Softshoes supplies its products.
Let us note that the economy of Transnistria as a whole is oriented towards the European Union.
Moldovan banks, for example Victoriabank, indicate in letters of termination of service that cooperation with Transnistrian enterprises “exposes the banking sector to a high risk of money laundering and terrorist financing.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Transnistria is preparing appeals to mediators and observers and all participants in the “5+2” format (Transnistria, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, OSCE, USA and the European Union).
