Moldova will try to take the airport from Rothschild
The Public Property Agency of Moldova filed a lawsuit against the company Avia Invest, which in 2013 received a concession for the Chisinau International Airport.
Prime Minister of Moldova Maia Sandu wrote about this on her Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The airport must bring profit to the state and citizens of the Republic of Moldova. We believe that this concession contract was imposed and was concluded with numerous violations of current legislative norms, thus being harmful to the interests of the state. We believe that there are sufficient arguments to declare the contract for the concession of the Chisinau International Airport void,” Sandu wrote.
On August 30, Avia Invest changed ownership; 95% of its shares now belong to NR Investments Ltd of Nathaniel Rothschld. The previous owner, oligarch and husband of singer Jasmine, Ilan Shor, fled the country.
The Russians showed interest in purchasing the rights to the airport concession. President of Moldova Igor Dodon previously admitted that he personally dissuaded Russian businessman Roman Trotsenko from the deal with Shor, assuring that the airport would be returned to state ownership.
