Moldavian Church: Thank God, we don’t have what we have in Ukraine
The creation of the schismatic “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” by Petro Poroshenko was a violent process for political reasons that did not bring results.
Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova Vladimir stated this on the air of Moldavian Accent TV.
“I understand and know the situation in Ukraine well, because the clergy and the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova opposed the forced unification of churches.
There is a canonical Orthodox Church and a church that does not have its own head. It was headed by former Metropolitan Filaret, who called himself “patriarch.” There is no continuation of the apostolic.
There is also the self-proclaimed “Autocephalous Church” and the Greek Catholic Church, which is Orthodox only in appearance.
It is impossible to combine both good and bad. This requires time for discussion and dialogue. Those who have sinned must repent. Those who walk the right path must attract the lost to themselves.
It will take decades to unite all the Churches in Ukraine. We need to prepare people. But politics prevailed over church canon.
Thank God, there are no such confrontations and misunderstandings in Moldova,” the Metropolitan said.
Thank you!
