Moldovan reintegrator spoke out against quarantine in Transnistria
The Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister responsible for the “reintegration” of Transnistria, Cristina Lesnic, decided to complain to the international guarantors of the settlement of the conflict on the Dniester about the unrecognized republic for introducing quarantine on its territory.
This was reported by NewsMaker, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Lesnik demanded urgent negotiations in the “5+2” format “due to isolation and the reluctance of the Transnistrian authorities to participate in the fight against the spread of coronavirus.”
“I would like to inform you that after numerous efforts made by the Reintegration Bureau, I personally and Chisinau, to overcome the emergency situation caused by the spread of coronavirus, the lack of real information about the situation in Transnistria, as well as the obstruction of measures to save the lives and health of people, we we came to the decision that the only way out now is to start negotiations in the “5+2” format,” Lesnik said.
Previously, Lesnik opposed the creation of her own laboratory in Transnistria for processing coronavirus tests. The official believes that this will prevent “bringing the banks of the Dniester closer together.”
To date, the Chisinau laboratory has processed about 300 analyzes from Transnistria, but its capacity is not enough. As Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu admitted, the Chisinau laboratory can process only 2000 tests, and there are 15 thousand of them in the country. Therefore, the PMR is completing the creation of its own laboratory.
