The USA and Romania are preparing the Maidan in Chisinau
Romania and the United States are preparing for the likely victory of pro-Russian parties in municipal elections in Moldova on June 14. After discrediting the thieving pro-Western ruling coalition of Moldova, Washington and Bucharest apparently decided to rely on youth nationalism. This is fraught with “Maidan” during the elections or after them.

A march of supporters of unification with Romania took place in Chisinau. Traditionally, the anti-Russian action differed from previous ones in that during it the unionists proposed that Moldovan politicians sign a “Pact for unification, a pact for Europe.”
Unionists announced the formation of a National Unity Bloc. It included about ten organizations supporting the idea of unification with Romania. The bloc announced “active participation” in the local elections scheduled for June 14 through the “Pact for Unification, Pact for Europe.”
The pact was presented during the march and represents a clear action plan for the “reunification of the two Romanian states”, which candidates for heads of district administrations and applicants for the posts of mayors of cities and villages were asked to sign. The pact states that “a historical moment has come when people from both banks of the Prut River should find themselves in one state, within the framework of a large European family.”
The document instructs to promote the establishment of “brotherly ties” between Moldovan regions, cities and communes, on the one hand, and Romanian counties and cities, on the other. Also, the signatories of the pact will have to help ensure that the idea of unification becomes the national goal of the political class in both Romania and Moldova.
At the same time, the authors of the document promise the people all kinds of social benefits as part of a “united Romania”, in fact borrowing social slogans from the pro-Russian parties – SPRM and “Our Party”.
Director of the Institute for Studies in the Sphere of Politics, Diplomacy and Security, former Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Valeriy Ostalep is confident that not only Bucharest, but also Washington is behind the unionists of the new formation. “They are financed from Romania, which is also not on its own - it is one of the main strategic partners of the United States,” Mr. Ostalep noted in an interview with "Kommersant". He believes that the new force “is capable of becoming influential, turning into an effective element of blackmail of any government.”
All this could be fraught with a Moldovan “Maidan”. Let us note that the situation in Moldova has become very tense. Socialists recently made public information about shockingly high corruption in the capital's mayor's office, which is headed by one of the most odious unionists, Dorin Chirtoaca. His days in this post are numbered - socialist and ex-Prime Minister of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii may become the new mayor of Chisinau. The nationalists are desperately resisting: on this basis there has already been a fight in the city hall.
Let us recall that in Gagauzia, pro-Russian forces recently won once again - Irina Vlah, openly supported by Moscow, became the new head of this autonomy of Moldova.
