According to the main headquarters of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova, Troenko will go to the forum as an observer.
“The minister will only take part in the general meeting of the heads of defense departments and military organizations that are members of NATO, which will take place on the first day of the summit,” explained the source, quoted by TV7.
The Alliance communiqué emphasizes that “the summit will convene at a critical moment in history, when global security is becoming increasingly unstable, as demonstrated by Russia’s actions in Ukraine.”
In March 2014, Moldova sent a limited military contingent to the Serbian province of Kosovo, which declared its independence and was recognized by a number of states, including the United States. At the beginning of September, a second peacekeeping contingent from Moldova will leave for Kosovo.
