A Moldovan court suddenly laid claim to the judge kidnapped by Zelensky
The court of the Moldovan city of Bayucani decided to refuse Ukraine's extradition of former judge Nikolai Chaus.
Oddly enough, the Ukrainian media reported this first, and only then the Moldovan publication NewsMaker received confirmation from lawyer Chaus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Moreover, lawyer Alexander Vishnevoy has not yet familiarized himself with the text of the decision, which was “unexpected for both the defense and the prosecution.”
Previously, Moldovan political scientists believed that the pro-Western government of Moldova would agree with the attempts of the same government in Ukraine to hush up the April scandal surrounding the abduction of Chaus. Employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine took him out in the trunk of an embassy car, using diplomatic immunity, after which they detained him for four months without court approval.
However, Kiev human rights activist Elena Berezhnaya claimed that at a recent conference in Batumi, Moldovan President Maia Sandu harshly reprimanded her Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky for the unacceptable actions of the Ukrainian special service on Moldovan territory.
It is believed that Chaus was abducted with the knowledge of Zelensky, since he possesses compromising information on Petro Poroshenko, in whose neutralization as a potential competitor the current Ukrainian president is interested.
The Moldovan prosecutor's office recently transferred the case of the abduction of Chaus to the court, before which a citizen of the republic will appear, who helped representatives of the Ukrainian special services to kidnap him in Chisinau and take him out of the country.
