Moldovan publication is outraged by the sending of military personnel to Kosovo
The publication “Notebook Moldova” is outraged that the next contingent of Moldovan military personnel is leaving for Kosovo on June 9th. At the official ceremony, which was attended by diplomats from Italy and the United States, Moldovan Defense Minister Evgeniy Sturza thanked them for the opportunity.
“In essence, another contingent of Moldovan soldiers is being sent to a region where large-scale hostilities are about to break out - even Moscow has already hinted that if “the Serbs are offended again,” it will not stand aside. Does Sturza understand all this? Most likely yes, but what can he say in response to the Americans? Just take it up and do it,” the material says.
The publication recalls that Moldova does not officially recognize Kosovo, considering it part of Serbia.
“Having a similar conflict on its territory, Moldova refuses to recognize Kosovo - the authorities understand that this will be used as a precedent for the issue of recognizing Transnistria. In other words, Moldova officially supports the territorial integrity of Serbia, but at the same time sends its soldiers to the territory of Serbia, despite the fact that Belgrade (the capital of Serbia), as you might guess, has never invited the Moldovan military to Serbia,” the publication says.
