The Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement has moved forward
The shuttle visit of participants in the negotiation process on Transnistria will take place on July 12 in Tiraspol.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev stated this in an interview with the First Pridnestrovsky TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“All international participants in the negotiations supported this initiative of Pridnestrovie and Russia. Just the other day we received confirmation that such a visit will take place on July 12.
We really hope that authorized representatives of Russia, Ukraine, and the OSCE will be able to help Chisinau begin practical work,” Ignatiev said
He expressed hope that after this visit it will be possible to begin organizing a full-fledged meeting in the “5+2” format, which includes Moldova and Transnistria - parties to the conflict, the Russian Federation and Ukraine - guarantors and mediators, the OSCE - mediator, and the United States and the European Union — observers.
“Meetings of political representatives have not been held for more than six months. The new Moldovan representatives have not yet shown such an initiative, although according to the procedure such an initiative should come from Chisinau. We are ready to work,” Ignatiev said.
According to him, Pridnestrovie hopes that Moldova will implement all its previously assumed obligations.
“This applies to telecommunications and criminal cases. We expect the fulfillment of obligations, since the foreign policy crisis there is over. Our international partners in Russia, Europe, and the USA expect the same,” Ignatiev noted.
