Moldova and Transnistria have mutually simplified border crossings for people and goods
Today it became known that the authorities of Transnistria and Moldova have made decisions facilitating simplified border crossing for both individuals and goods, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
As Mold-street reports, the Moldovan government has extended until February 1, 2020 the exemption from customs duties for Transnistrian entrepreneurs who transport goods through three joint Moldovan-Ukrainian border checkpoints and are not registered with the State Services Agency.
Last year, this period was extended twice, the last date was July 1, 2020. At the same time, the Moldovan Ministry of Finance points out the need for additional notification of Pridnestrovian businessmen about the need to register with the State Services Agency. Initially, the release period was three months and was supposed to end on July 18, 2018.
For his part, the President of the PMR signed the Decree “On the simplified procedure for crossing the state border of the PMR by foreign citizens permanently residing in settlements of the PMR located in territories temporarily under the control of the Republic of Moldova, as well as in certain border settlements of the Republic of Moldova.”
The simplified control procedure boils down to checking identity documents solely for validity, Novosti Pridnestrovya reports.
