Moldova is indignant over the Transnistrian laboratory
Pridnestrovie will open its laboratory to conduct tests for coronavirus.
The Moldovan Ministry of Health reported this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
To date, the Chisinau laboratory has processed about 300 analyzes from Transnistria, but its capacity is not enough. As Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu admitted, the Chisinau laboratory can process only 2000 tests, and there are currently 15 of them in the country. Another 100 tests purchased from China are expected to be delivered.
Pridnestrovian specialists were trained in Chisinau, TSV TV channel clarifies.
However, the new Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for “reintegration” Cristina Lesnic (she already held this post in the government overseen by the oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who has now fled Moldova) came out categorically against it.
“All tests and any other support should pass only through Chisinau, through the capital of Moldova, and tests should be done only in the existing laboratory at the National Agency of Public Health, since to date another has not yet been created. We do not approve of the fact that Tiraspol has expressed a desire to create its own laboratory,” Lesnik was quoted as saying by the First Pridnestrovsky TV channel.
The official believes that the current situation will “bring the banks of the Dniester closer together.”
