Moldova paid for its desire to sit on two chairs
Belarusian customs officers stopped the export of 7,5 tons of disinfectants to Moldova, since this country is not a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The Minsk Interregional Customs reported this on its official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
A commercial organization tried to export the cargo; it submitted a corresponding declaration to the customs officers.
“Employees of the Soligorsk customs clearance point did not allow the export of this product, since the Decision of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated March 24.03.2020, 41 No. XNUMX “On non-tariff regulation measures”, which came into force, temporarily prohibits the export of such goods from the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union,” it says in the message.
The export of personal protective equipment, disinfectants, medical products and materials for which there is a ban on export from the customs territory of the EAEU is valid until September 30, 2020 inclusive.
Let us recall that the President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has achieved observer status in the EAEU for his country, but Chisinau is not negotiating full membership in the Eurasian Union, preferring to maintain the association agreement with the EU.
Dodon stated that he would try to convince Russia to provide discounts on gas to Moldova even in the status of an EAEU observer.
“We will be friends with everyone: both the West and the East. The country will flourish... If Moldova is now faced with a choice, it will explode like Ukraine,” Dodon assured.
