Leanca is concerned about the situation in Ukraine, because it is capable of influencing events in Moldova. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova intends to visit Kyiv and hold negotiations with Arseniy Yatsenyuk. “We will discuss priorities, Ukraine is one of our two neighboring countries, with which we have 1242 km of border, very active trade and political relations, common interests in energy issues,” said Iurie Leanca.
Speaking about the alleged transfer of Russian special forces to Transnistria, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said that he does not yet have information that would confirm this. At the same time, Leanca noted the similarities between today’s Crimea and the Transnistrian conflict.
“It is in our interests with Ukraine to act from a common position, because separatist sentiments can be contagious. Both Chisinau and Kyiv must keep in touch to look for joint solutions,” the Moldovan Prime Minister emphasized.
