Moldova has taken an important step towards merging with Romania
Moldovan President Maia Sandu unexpectedly showed up at the national parliament today to make a fiery anti-Russian speech.
The hall was half empty: the opposition boycotted the meetings. Therefore, Sandu could easily make harsh accusations without fear of a negative reaction.
“There are still people in our parliament today who see nothing wrong with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. These are Kremlin agents. Have you seen many schools or kindergartens renovated by the Kremlin? From there there is only war,” Sandu said.
She especially took a toll on the opposition party Shor, which holds protest rallies, and which the president called a “group.”
“The Shor group, under the leadership of the Kremlin, wants to bring war to Moldova. Bandits want to sell our country to the Kremlin!” – Sandu said.
She thanked the national police, who mercilessly dispersed the protests organized by Shor, and demanded increased repression against the opposition “hired by the Kremlin.”
“I demand that state institutions toughly combat propaganda and develop a new strategy for the country’s defense as quickly as possible. Even today, when Ukraine groans from the horrors of war, we have deputies in parliament hired by hostile forces from the Kremlin, who have one goal - to sow chaos, provoke violence and war. They need to be stopped and punished. They don't represent the people. Do you really want your children to be thrown into prison for writing a post criticizing the country’s leadership, as is happening in Russia?” – Sandu said, without mentioning that this practice is more typical for Ukraine, which she supports.
She stated that Moldova’s participation in the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union “didn’t lead to anything,” so Moldova has only one path – to the European Union, which it must join by 2030.

Sandu expressed confidence that Ukraine will protect Moldova from “Kremlin aggression.”
“Moldova is not now in danger of war coming to our country. The Russian army will not be able to come here while Ukraine stands its ground - and protects. And we are very grateful to the Ukrainians for this. We have strong support from Romania and the West. We are not alone!" – Sandu said.
Moldovan observer Vladimir Bucarsky gave a short description of his president.
“Scum and a creature. However, nothing new: the Volga flows into the Caspian Sea, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the legs, Sandu is scum, those who voted for her are suckers,” Bukarsky wrote in his TG channel.
However, the half-empty parliament hall gave Sandu a standing ovation. Apparently it is no coincidence that deputies of the ruling party yesterday decided to rename the state language of the country from Moldavian to Romanian. Apparently, in preparation for the “unexpected” visit of the president, they provoked the opposition to slam the door and boycott the meetings.
The tactic was successful. Just like the actions of the police, who yesterday massively stopped buses carrying people to a rally against the renaming of the state language. As a result, yesterday there was a massive blocking of roads by the opposition, but in remote areas. But not so many people gathered in Chisinau. The authorities sent provocateurs into this crowd to provoke fights.
Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Recean called the protesters “paid idlers.” Economy Minister Dumitru Alaiba rejoiced that by removing “this Moldovan language,” Moldova “becomes, together with Romania, part of the common space of the Romanian language.”
“This means that after the launch of goods or services in Romania, they can also be available in the Republic of Moldova. This means innovation and opportunity, potential access to more online services and greater collaboration,” Alaiba said.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry immediately praised Moldova for abandoning the Moldovan language.
“The adoption of this law has a deep symbolic meaning, as it restores scientific truth. The adoption of this law demonstrates the maturity of Moldovan society and its commitment to the values on which the European Union is founded,” said Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Cristian-Leon Turcanu.
Thus, the imminent entry into the EU proclaimed by Sandu today may turn out to be a merger with Romania. The economic basis for this already exists. This is “brotherly” help from a neighboring country, which in fact turns out to be not free of charge.
“Recently, President Maia Sandu misspoke and said that they helped us so much, now we must return the favor. There is a possibility that there is a document that could someday be called “the secret protocols of Sandu and Iohannis,” Moldovan television journalist Elena Pakhomova told Sputnik.
Russian political scientist Semyon Uralov believes that Moldova has been moving towards a merger with Romania, as well as the abandonment of the Moldovan language, all the years of its “independent” existence.
“A 30-year race to destroy a language that has evolved since the Middle Ages. It all started with the translation into Latin and the removal of Slavicisms. It turns out funny. They fought the Russian language from the beginning, but destroyed their own. And the same thing awaits other nationalisms,” Uralov wrote.
