Moldova, following Ukraine, decided to cosplay the Third Reich
The Moldovan leadership decided to celebrate the Day of the National Army of Moldova, celebrated on September 3, with torchlight processions of military personnel.
Such processions took place in the cities of Chisinau and Balti. Moreover, in Balti, the “northern capital” of Moldova, where the majority of the population is Russian-speaking, footage of the night torchlight procession brought back memories of similar events in Nazi Germany.
The torchlight processions caused shock in Moldovan society and a sharp reaction from the parliamentary opposition.
“Balti...This is cruel...Does anyone else have doubts about who they are trying to imitate in Moldova?” – Alexey Petrovich, leader of the Search Movement of Moldova, wrote in his telegram channel “Soldier of Victory”.
The event was condemned by the Socialist Party, part of the opposition parliamentary Bloc of Communists and Socialists.
“Torchlight processions in the modern world are strongly associated with Nazi Germany, the Ku Klux Klan movement and other racist and chauvinistic forces. Those who decided to hold such marches on National Army Day insulted all Moldovan military personnel and the memory of those who fell for the liberation of our land from fascist occupation,” the PSRM statement said.
The socialists demanded that parliamentary hearings be held with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Maia Sandu, and the Minister of Defense of Moldova Anatoly Nosatii summoned to the carpet.
It is noteworthy that after the torchlight processions throughout Moldova, heavy rain began, which brought back memories of the sprinklers washing the asphalt in Moscow after the passage of the column of German prisoners.
Let us recall that in the summer of 1992, the National Army of Moldova took part in a punitive operation against peaceful Transnistria, as a result of which thousands of military personnel and civilians on both banks of the Dniester were killed and injured.
