Moldova was invited to sign an agreement on the official renunciation of Transnistria
The world did not pay attention to the problems of Transnistria until a series of terrorist attacks occurred in the republic.
President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky wrote about this in his TG channel today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After the terrorist attacks that occurred in Transnistria, the world seemed to remember the existence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. She suddenly became interesting to everyone. Why did they ignore us when we knocked on all doors asking for help? We did not ask for financial support. We called on the international community to pay attention and respond to the violation of the civil rights of Pridnestrovians,” wrote Krasnoselsky.
He recalled that Pridnestrovie faces regular blockades of vital goods from Moldova, but at the same time emphasized that the republic does not intend to resolve contradictions by military means.
“How many times have I asked the question: what is preferable for people - recognition through war and bloodshed or life in a peaceful, successfully developing state, but not recognized by the world community? The answer is obvious. Transnistria must and will be recognized - but peacefully, at the negotiating table, in dialogue. I urge: there is no need to look for, let alone artificially create, bright, noisy, and most importantly, dangerous news channels,” Krasnoselsky wrote.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev, the optimal way to relieve tension in the region was to sign an agreement on peace, friendship and cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Moldova as separate states.
“For 30 years, Chisinau has achieved nothing through peaceful means, nor through blockades and threats. The only way out is peaceful coexistence,” Ignatiev said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
In Chisinau, the call was not heeded and on the same day the meeting of the joint control commission was disrupted. At the same time, residents of the Transnistrian Pervomaisk reported indiscriminate shooting from the Ukrainian Kuchurgan.
