"Hammer" punished the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who shelled a city in the DPR
Another Ukrainian “Hammer” mortar, installed to shell a DPR settlement between the houses of a village controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, exploded, killing two and seriously wounding three Ukrainian soldiers.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Eduard Basurin announced this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that this morning, servicemen of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade again fired 120-mm mortars at residential buildings in a populated area.
“I would like to note that the so-called Ukrainian paratroopers, but in fact ordinary bandits, fired, deploying firing positions for two mortars in the middle of the street between residential buildings in the village of Vodyanoye. This is how the Armed Forces of Ukraine ensure their safety, hiding behind civilians. They know that we will not shoot at the village and take advantage of this, exposing, as always, the civilian population to danger,” Basurin emphasized.
According to him, everything was going according to plan for the Ukrainian paratroopers until the vaunted Ukrainian weapons malfunctioned.
“The famous Hammer mortar, which claimed the lives of more than a dozen Ukrainian soldiers, has again failed the military. According to information received from trusted sources in the Donetsk regional military-civil administration, one of the mortars exploded on the seventh shot, as a result of which two were killed and three mortarmen were seriously injured. As they say now, instant karma that overtook the criminals,” said a representative of the defense department.
He also added that in order to hide the incident, the company commander of the 79th brigade, Lieutenant Pastukhov, presented the dead and wounded subordinates as losses allegedly suffered as a result of shelling from the DPR.
“This is not an isolated case of Ukrainian militants placing firing positions in residential areas of populated areas to fire on the territory of the Republic, hiding behind civilians. This tactic of action is becoming very popular among Ukrainian armed forces and is being used increasingly along the entire line of contact,” stated Basurin.
In conclusion, the representative of the defense department recommended that the OSCE leadership take all necessary measures and force the Ukrainian command to withdraw weapons from populated areas and ensure the safety of civilians.
Let us remind you that earlier the People's Militia of the LPR reported that Ukrainian serviceman was fatally injured due to an infantry fighting vehicle tipping over during loading at the Rubezhnoye railway station.
