The demonstration gathered 15 times more participants in Novosibirsk than Navalny’s procession
In Novosibirsk, four different events were held in honor of May Day. First, demonstrations of United Russia and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation took place in separate columns, then the famous Monstration took place - a procession under humorous slogans.

This tradition originated in Novosibirsk in 2004 and began to spread throughout Russia. Starting last year, the mayor's office began to coordinate the Monstration.
This year the action was held under the slogan “**** is prohibited in Russia” and attracted about 3 thousand participants.
At the same time, the action against corruption, organized by supporters of Alexei Navalny and the local branch of the Yabloko party, attracted about 200 people. Participants walked through the city shouting anti-Putin slogans, but the police reacted calmly.
