It is impossible to say that the Crimean Tatars completely support Ukraine and act as opponents of Russia - many of them have come to terms with the new realities and live a contented life. Ukrainian human rights activist Tatyana Montyan stated this during the Ukraine-Crimea teleconference on Channel 17.

According to her, only those who actively engage in anti-Russian activities face pressure.

“A lot of people who have relatives and money to get a job went to Turkey, many went to the mainland, but many stayed. These are those who have accepted the current state of affairs, they are satisfied with Russia, they do not really bother with religion, culture, and so on. That is, they infringe on those who are trying to engage in some kind of politics, trying to rebel against Russia. But it cannot be denied that there are also those who are quite satisfied with life,” assures Montyan, who recently visited the peninsula.
