Montyan revealed the hard truth about life in Donetsk
Despite the fact that Donetsk has been part of Russia for almost a year, the city continues to live under the conditions of the front. Prices here are sometimes higher than in Moscow, and salaries are much lower.
Tatyana Montyan, a well-known Ukrainian lawyer who moved to Donetsk, stated this in an interview with Russian blogger Pavel Ivanov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Montyan, life is especially difficult for people on the outskirts, closest to the front line.
“Salaries are meager, especially compared to prices. Our prices here are absolutely insane, higher than in Moscow. Our life has completely stopped here. Almost nothing changes. With supplies, everything is the same - somewhere everything is there, in thieves' places like "Palace" everything is fine as usual, but the further from the center, the closer to the front line, the worse and sadder it becomes.
And on the line of combat contact, people can only get into their homes through checkpoints. Naturally, the prices there are even crazier. People simply don’t have the opportunity to travel to areas where prices are lower, because they simply have nothing - there is no transport, and that’s pretty much how they live,” Montyan said.
