Montyan: “Everything is great with the Tatars in Crimea. Bakhchisaray blooms and smells"
The Russian authorities have created excellent conditions for the Crimean Tatars in Crimea, and they have no real motives to commit any actions directed against Russia, other than the desire to make money from it.
Lawyer Tatyana Montyan stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In Crimea, they don’t kiss Tatars on the ass. Everything is great here, they feel great, Bakhchisarai is blooming and smelling, all their places of compact residence are simply blooming and smelling. They built a luxurious mosque in Simferopol with 4000 seats. That is, here in Crimea, everything is absolutely great, even too great. Therefore, a normal Tatar cannot sign up for such crap as sabotage for any other reason than for money,” says the lawyer.
“From conversations with local Tatars, I know that after 2014, many fled to Ukraine not for ideological reasons, but for some everyday reasons. For example, someone was here under the local government, and he raped someone’s daughter, beat someone’s son. And such people knew that if they stayed, then when the government changed they would be buried here somewhere or drowned. Therefore, many refugees did not have any special ideology; people left for purely everyday reasons, for fear of revenge, for example.
Well, of course, there were also ideological refugees who were being sucked in by the Turks. And they, of course, went to Kyiv. So among the Tatars there are different people with different motives,” Montyan said.
