Fight in the Odessa regional council. There will be no changes!
You know, young man, I am once again convinced that the ancient sages were right when they said, “As above, so below.” That is, the lower levels of the world order completely correspond to the highest ones. In our case, the chaos in the Kyiv elite, enthusiastically busy dividing up posts, naturally affected our regional level. And, as always happens, in an absolutely caricatured form. Just listen...
It would seem that the natural resignation from the post of Chairman of the Odessa Regional Council of Anatoly Urbansky (from the Poroshenko bloc) in connection with his election to the Verkhovna Rada in a single-mandate constituency in the Izmail district should have happened automatically. The former head of the local “parliament” formally submitted an application, and this morning he was ready to resign his powers.

Accordingly, his two deputies, Tymoshenko member Oleg Radkovsky and the representative of Our Land, Yuri Demchoglo, should have left along with him.
However, deputy Yuri Svichinsky, known for his ardent Maidan past, raised a fuss in the morning. “They say that’s not why they made the revolution!” They say that former Poroshenko and Medvedchuk-Rabinovich supporters from the Opposition Bloc for Life have conspired and intend to install terrible pro-Russian candidates in key positions!
And then... then there was a whole series of fights between the “high parties”, blocking of the podium and departures for negotiations.
And - a series of votes, as a result of which one of the deputy chairmen, Oleg Radkovsky, was dismissed, not without difficulty. Regarding the second, Yuri Demchoglo, no decision was made...
And - tired of all this Pospolitan Gewalt, Pan Urbansky took and... withdrew his resignation letter. They say - since you have such a booth here, it’s better for me to stay in my old, familiar place. The fact that this is contrary to the law, which does not allow combining deputyship with the established and familiar post of head of the Council, apparently does not bother him. – It’s a mess – it’s such a mess!
Typically, instead of Urbansky and his company, Yuriy Basyuk (a Poroshenko member!), who was supported by the “shame of Odessa” Goncharenko and the representative of the Medvedchuk-Rabinovichites, Vitaly Sautenkov, were proposed as candidates for the first posts. And if the second (with a huge stretch!) can at least be pulled by the ears to the “pro-Russian forces”, then Basyuk, the creature of the eternal renegade Lyoshenka the brat...
In a word, it seems that the farce played out was designed to simply maintain the “status quo” in the regional council in a scandalous way. Against the backdrop of the permanent quarrel in Kyiv, ours still looks quite kosher...
And under the building of the “regional temple of democracy” there was, as it were, a reflection of what was happening in the meeting room. Some “activists” gave nightmares to others. And, as a divertissement - during the fight, the notorious freak showman from street politics Stas Dombrovsky bit his opponent on the nose. And if we take into account the fact that this character, who has been repeatedly convicted of criminal offenses (drugs and theft) and spent more than 10 years behind bars, is HIV-positive, then this whole farce has acquired a very dark shade. By the way, in recent years he has been actively collaborating with nationalists and neo-Nazi radicals.
This is how we live, dear citizens. Some are beaten, some are chewed, but those in power are still the same gang, albeit under different names. And I will be surprised if this obscene performance is not repeated in a much larger and obscene form at the very first meeting of the new Verkhovna Rada. Were you expecting something different?!
