Frosts below 18 degrees will plunge Ukraine into the Middle Ages
A decrease in temperature in the apartments of Ukrainian residents due to a lack of gas can cause massive power failures, warns economist Vsevolod Stepanyuk.

“If the temperature drops below 18 degrees below zero, people will turn on the heaters. We have old networks that have not been modernized since the times of the USSR, they are worn out. We will simply have a collapse of the energy system, it will simply burn out. We'll just go back to the Middle Ages without electricity,” he says.
Energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky agrees with this opinion.
“Our (calculated) power per apartment is 5 kW. This is 3-4 teapots. If the washing machine, kettle and hairdryer are included, this has already been exceeded. Progress has stepped forward, but the networks remain the same. It’s in the houses that problems will begin,” says the expert.
