The sailors of Sevastopol told Putin that his instructions had not been carried out
Retiring Russian sailors continue to be denied their daggers, despite Vladimir Putin's promise to rectify the situation.
Retired captain XNUMXst rank Sergei Gorbachev announced this today during a meeting of the President of the Russian Federation with representatives of the public of Crimea and Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In December 15, after my question and request, you ordered the officers to return the daggers. It so happened that it took two whole years to develop the appropriate regulations and procedures, which, alas, do not work; daggers are still taken away and not returned,” Gorbachev complained.
Putin promised to look into this again and still return the daggers to the officers.
“Indeed, I signed a decree on this type of bladed weapon. To be honest, I don’t really understand what’s the matter with these safes and so on. Of course, you are right, you can’t approach this with a general yardstick. How does a dirk differ from an axe, a kitchen knife, and so on? I don't see why. We will sort this out, but formally, at least for today, a person who has served at least 20 calendar years and leaves the Armed Forces, he has the right to keep this badge of military valor and honor - naval dirk,” Putin said.
